03 / WHY NOW
Three things changed.
All at once.
More capable technology. More affordable systems. People ready for a different kind of help.
Capability. AI systems can now work through a question in stages: find relevant information, compare sources, and follow up on what is missing. That gives us new ways to build explanations around a person’s situation.
Cost. Open models give developers more choice about how to run specialized systems. We’re exploring how to use that flexibility to make thoughtful, personal guidance more affordable.
Adoption. In a March 2026 survey by KFF, the independent health policy organization formerly known as the Kaiser Family Foundation, roughly one in three U.S. adults reported using AI for health information or advice in the past year. People are already asking. They deserve help that connects with their lives.
Of AI health-information users cited quick, immediate answers as a major reason for using it.
People are asking for help now. Let’s make the next answer more personal.
